SMITH, walking and carrying their bags into the lobby of an expensive French hotel. They go up to the counter where the French DESK CLERK is. ] Mr. Smith: Reservations for Smith. Desk Clerk: Ah yes. Room 42. Mr. Smith: Thank you. [ Mr. and Mrs. Smith start to walk away. ] Desk Clerk: Ah sir. Mr. Smith: Yes. Desk Clerk: I should tell you that there is a small spider in the right upper hand corner of your room. Mrs. Smith: It's not a black widow, is it? Desk Clerk: No. No. She's just your regular spider. Mrs. Smith: She? Desk Clerk: Yes. Mr. Smith: [ jokingly ] She doesn't stay up late or make a lot of noise, does she? Desk Clerk: No. No. But she does like to watch "Newhart" at ten. Mr. Smith: Likes to watch "Newhart". Desk Clerk: Yeah. Don't worry. We get it. Mr. Smith: Well, we'll try to remember that. Desk Clerk: Oh yes. One more thing. Ah...since tomorrow is Saturday, she does like to watch early morning cartoons. Particularly American Saturday morning cartoons from the 1980's. Mr. Smith: Does she? Desk Clerk: Yeah you know like "Thundercats" or "Foofer" or "The Snorks". Mr. Smith: The Snorks? Desk Clerk: Yeah you know. [ starts singing ] Come along with the Snorks. Mr. Smith: Well, we'll see what we can do. Desk Clerk: If you would be so kind. [ Mr. Smith joins up with his wife standing outside the room. ] Mr. Smith: French people are weird. Mrs. Smith: You can say that again. [ They open their door to find the entire room filled with spiderwebs. A BELLHOP is stuck on the web. ] Bellhop: Welcome to the Rouge Hotel!
