Landry Corporation
written by: Patrick Lonergan

[ over black and white archival footage of the Landry Corp. through the years ]

Voiceover #1: For over 75 years, the Landry Corporation has been a part of our city's heritage. They were the first business in the area to suffer the economic downfall of the Stock Market Crash and the first to later bounce back from their misfortune.

They were the first company to supply necessary goods abroad during World War II, and they were the first company to rally in support of the war for a better and freer America.

In 1952, the Landry Corporation was the first business in our vast-growing metropolis to offer paid college scholarships to area high school seniors who displayed a promising future, and subsequently provided these young men with available jobs upon graduation.

Voiceover #2: [ whispery, over SUPER ] The first.

Voiceover #1: And as skyrocketing inflation made it difficult for small businesses to prosper in an ever-changing economy, the CEO of a big business such as the Landry Corporation was the first to suffer a massive nervous breakdown and declare war on the Italians in the Bronx. And as the economy continued to fluctuate, the Landry Corporation has been the first company in our state to continually bob its head up and down in the water with high hopes of advancing to its next fiscal quarter.

Until now.

The Landry Corporation has achieved yet another first for our city, as it announces it's week-long Going Out of Business Sale. Once a primary manufacturer of goods for our local economy, the Landry Corporation has since been reduced to selling wholesale appliances at a fraction of the cost, at a below-profit margin. Now, those prices are lower than ever, and when they're gone.. they're gone.

Landry Corporation. Where Being First Doesn't Last.
