...Avril Lavigne
...Mark Jennings Reese II
(Fade out)
Avril Lavigne: Hi, I’m Avril Lavigne! (Waits for any applause and gets none) Nearly, 3 weeks ago...(cut off by Mark Jennings Reese II)
Mark Jennings Reese II: Hey, crack ho, who said you were doing this segment. Do you see that line up there that says, “Written by Mark Jennings Reese II”? Well, I wrote this segment, I am doing this segment. So go and hit on Jimmy Fallon. He loves trailer trash! (Audience boos) Oh, come on folks! I’m just being honest! (To Avril) Go!
(Exit Avril Lavigne)
Mark Jennings Reese II: Let’s do this thing! (In a serious tone) We lost one of the finest over the holidays. Singer/guitarist Joe Strummer from the punk rock band The Clash died. Oh yeah, we also lost the dude from The Cutting Crew. Anywho, Strummer died of what has been reported a heart attack, in his sleep on December 21, 2002. Well, that’s what happens when you “Rock The Casbah” too many times. (Audience boos him again) (To the audience) Come on! Folks, this a comedy show, is it not? Okay, so we here at Saturday Night You would like to remember Joe Strummer by showing a clip of The Clash’s October 9, 1982 appearance on Saturday Night Live. The song was “Should I Stay Or Should I Go”. Joe Strummer, we miss you!
(Camera pans to the 1982 clip of The Clash on SNL)
