Announcer: Now, in New York, Tom Brokaw.
(Camera fades in on Tom Brokaw)
Tom Brokaw: Good evening, Tom Brokaw for NBC News. With the primaries coming to an apocalyptic close to this political season, John Kerry continues to be the man who will take on George W. Bush. With the primaries continuing, celebrity endorsements continue to leak out of Hollywood and falling on deaf ears as, not one celebrity has endorsed John Kerry. I understand we are going live to Los Angeles, for a press conference by actor-musician Jack Black.
(Cameras fade to press conference)
Jack Black: Hello, everyone. I am Jack Black! Kyle, my partner in crime, and I have been talking and jamming about whom we think should be our next president. I said Dennis Kucinich, Kyle said John Edwards…then we came to a conclusion that the man for the job is Howard Dean! Start it up, Kyle!!
(Kyle beats on his guitar)
Jack Black: (singing) oh, oh, Howard Dean is the man with the plan. Howard Dean, the man for this land, this great land of ours! Dean, like James or Jimmy. Cool like James and can cook some damn fine sausage! He’s Howard Dean. He’s lean, he’s mean. He’s a presidential working machine. Dean, Dean. He’s Howard Dean!
(Black & Gass stop jamming)
Thank you!
Reporter: Jack, why have you chosen Howard Dean of all the candidates? That song really didn’t tell us anything…now.
Jack Black: Kyle?
Kyle Gass: We really believe in his convictions.
Jack Black: Plus, he’s the only candidate whose last name starts with “D”. Because, Howard Dean puts the D in Tenacious D!
(Howard Dean walks up to the microphone)
Reporter: Howard, can you comment on this endorsement?
Howard Dean: Yaaha!
(Camera fades back to Tom Brokaw in New York)
Tom Brokaw: So, there you have it. Apparently, Howard Dean puts the D in Tenacious D. Next Celebrity endorsement for President, Corey Feldman & Corey Haim endorsing Michael Dukakis. Sorry…I apologize…that’s a really old news story. Stay tuned to NBC for more primary coverage on MSNBC and CNBC. Also, online at…Live from New York, it’s Saturday Night!
