Announcer/Assistant.....Chris Parnell
Mel Gibson.....Darrell Hammond
Actor Portraying Jesus.....Seth Meyers
Announcer V/O: Brilliant, offensive, shocking, those are just a few of the words that have been used to describe Mel Gibson’s “The Passion of the Christ.” However, if you thought that the film began and ended in the movie theatre, then think again. In his new documentary, Mel Gibson presents a first-hand look at an even greater passion, that of directing.
[Cut to an interview with Mel]
Mel Gibson: You know, ever since I became a wacky fundamentalist, I’ve always had the desire to direct a movie about the last days of Jesus Christ. Even though I had the whole thing mapped out in my mind, nothing ever goes as planned on set.
[Cut to Mel measuring Jesus’ beard]
Mel Gibson: I swear it should be exactly 21 cm long.
Assistant: That’s not what my Bible says.
Mel Gibson: Well duh, you’re using King James.
[Cut back to the interview]
Mel Gibson: As you can tell from my earlier films, such as “Braveheart,” I strive to be as historically accurate as possible when I make a movie. That’s why this next incident just boggled my mind.
[Cut to the crew filming the crucifixion scene]
Mel Gibson: A Star of David!!! Why is Jesus nailed to a giant
Star of David? I can’t f%^king believe this.
[Cut back to the interview]
Mel Gibson: Stupidity like that makes me real cross. Ha! I made a funny.
Announcer V/O: “The Passion of the Mel Gibson,” coming soon to Mel Gibson’s basement. First fifty people in line each win a piece of the true cross autographed by Mel Gibson.
